To become an unarmed security guard in Georgia, no license is required, but you must obtain 24 hours of classroom training.Requirements to become a security guard in Georgia:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be a United States citizen or registered resident alien
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No felony convictions or any crime involving the illegal use of weapons
- Have good moral character
- Have not committed any acts of fraud
- Drug testing
Training:
A basic training course consisting of at least 24-hours of class instruction must be successfully completed. This course can be given by the potential employer or may be taken as a standalone class.
The curriculum includes the following subjects:
- Role of security guards
- Legal powers and limitations
- Ethics and conduct (including Board rules)
- Patrolling and investigation
- Communication and public relations
- Observation and note-taking
- Emergency response
- Access control
- Evidence Statements

If you do not receive your training or certification due to instructor error, delay or instructor not completing the training , that specific instructor is responsible for your refund of the amount that was paid directly to him / or her. No Call No Shows forfeit their entire tuition. In the event of a students approved cancelation there will be a administration charge. We incur certain expenses administratively when registering and scheduling you for a course. All sales are final, with the exception of rare cancellation request.
